Responsibilities:
  • Designs, builds, and implements network systems
  • Provides technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations
  • Compiles records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance
  • Troubleshoots network performance issues

  • Manages the testing, installation, and support of network communications, including LAN/MAN/WAN systems

  • Provides the routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities systems
  • Utilizes software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance
  • Troubleshoots network systems when necessary and makes improvements to the network
  • Provides support in various endeavors sponsored by the LAN-WAN Services Division in support of the Department of the State IRM technical mission
  • Those duties may include inventory control, excess of obsolete and excess equipment, cleaning, office duties, etc
  • The duties will be determined by the Maintenance Supervisor, and coordinated through Vanguard channels
  • Requires worldwide availability and periodic overseas travel in support of installations

Qualifications:
  • Clearance Required: Active Top Secret Clearance (Required)
  • Strong knowledge of virtualized server environments (VMware ESXi, vSphere, etc)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012/2016 system administration

  • Experience in scripting in Powershell and/or PowerCLI
